The Possibilities initiative began as a notion of challenge, what would happen if we simply tried to think differently of a situation? what would happen if we simply believed that the difficulties we face are but an illusion to a greater reality? i.e. that things are really not as difficult as we think, and that all things 'are' infact possible.

The initiative started off therefore as a challenge to the ordinary, interested individuals would list a challenge they were facing and how they were tackling them head on. This would begin with identifying what the challenges are and why are they identified as an issue. Out of which practical and realistic solutions were sort, beginning first and foremost with self realization of what strengths each individual had in order to be able to tackle these matters.

Strengths would be listed as networks (relationships, friendships, partnerships), talents and skills belonging to an individual to enable them the capabilities to tackle challenges. These amongst other things that could be used to ensure 'possibilities' to the challenge at hand.

The initiative was first piloted in a workshop for the Professional development of youths, in partnership with one other initiative under the Hub called Access Development. The objective was to hold a workshop with presentations being held by different stakeholders, with the aim to better equip young people in civic duties required of them as professionals.

The challenge was finding the funds to bring this event through. The solution - needs were identified and categorized. Strengths identified and activated according to the needs apparent and solutions sort. This meant contacting and reactivating old friendships in order to provide for things such as Stationery, Lunch, Refreshments and Educational materials, even sorting connections to enable the use of a venue for free.

The event was a great success and this solely a testament to the efforts of youths to break the average mindset and step into the impossibilities with a 'can do' thinking. Possibilities is about that exact fact, the realization of potential and the motivation to bring it into reality. The Possibilities initiative therefore seeks to raise awareness on the power within human potential to achieve and accomplish. It is continuously promoted through Social Media platforms such as Facebook via the use of #possibilities on every life changing story posted online.
